Last week we had the chance to attend the 5th Annual Sip and Slurp over at the 1 Fish 2 Fish Fresh Seafood Market in Langley City.
The annual fete makes a big splash by turning the tide on over-fished or depleted seafood and fish stocks.
Chef Ned Bell, founder of Chefs for Oceans prepared a plethora of Ocean Wise-inspired canapés with B.C. wine and craft beer pairings, proving to party-goers just how delicious and accessible sustainable seafood is in the Fraser Valley.
For anyone who enjoys seafood, great company and tasty beverages to wet your whistle, this is the event for you.
Here are just 5 reasons we love the Sip & Slurp.
1. Sustainable Seafood is Sexy
The Sip & Slurp profiles great sustainable fish and seafood choices; including a raw oyster bar. Yum!
2. Fabulous Fishes
Great food made by great chefs. This year welcomes chef Ned Bell, founder of Chefs for Oceans.
3. B.C. Sips
What better to go with great food, but award-winning sips from Fernie Brewing Co. and Kalala Organic Estate Winery?
4. Fish Market Gets Fancy But Once a Year
1 Fish 2 Fish Fresh Seafood Market puts on its fancy clothes for a fun, standing room only fete.
Honestly, what’s better than coming down to the Fraser Valley’s only fish market and celebrating the best our oceans have to offer?
A huge thanks to the 1 Fish 2 Fish Fresh Seafood Market’s owner Heather Jenkins for having us both back for another year at this top-notch event in the Fraser Valley. Make sure you check out her store at 20534 Fraser Highway.
